Moor Room: A Future-Proof Solar System

Moor Room, a large storage facility in Mornington, reached out to Dunton Group to install a high-capacity solar system to help manage their growing energy needs and reduce costs. With a large roof space and high daily energy usage, they needed a solution that could deliver consistent performance and long-term savings.

The main challenge was designing a solar system large enough to support the storage facility’s energy needs today, while also considering potential future expansion. We needed to ensure that the system could handle increased energy demands as the facility grows, without requiring a complete overhaul. The system had to be scalable and adaptable for future battery storage or EV charging needs, providing the client with flexibility as their energy usage evolves.

To meet Moor Room’s energy needs, we installed:

• 80 x 495W SunPower P6 Series Solar Panels – High-performance bifacial panels designed for commercial use, backed by a 25-year product and performance warranty.

• 1 x 30kW Fronius Verto Three Phase Inverter – A powerful and efficient inverter designed for high-demand commercial systems, ensuring consistent and reliable energy output. Backed by a 5+5 year warranty.

• 1 x Fronius Smart Meter – Provides real-time monitoring and system performance insights, helping to optimise energy use.

• Clenergy Rooftop Mounting System – Designed to suit the tin/dek roof, providing secure and long-lasting support for the panels.

• Full System Setup, Monitoring, Testing, and Commissioning – Ensuring the system was operating at peak efficiency from day one.

The new solar system has significantly improved Moor Room’s energy efficiency and reduced their reliance on the grid. The high-output SunPower panels and Fronius Verto inverter provides reliable energy generation, even under varying weather conditions. The Fronius Smart Meter allows for real-time monitoring and performance tracking, helping the client maximise self-consumption and long-term savings. With reduced electricity costs and a future-proof system, Moor Room is now set up for sustainable energy independence.

It was a great experience working on a large commercial site like Moor Room. The team enjoyed the challenge of designing and installing a system of this scale. We had some unexpected delays in finishing this job as we waited for the Fronius Verto inverter to be CEC approved. As soon as that accreditation came through, the boys went back out to finish the job.
